The Best Ab Exercises
Since practically all movement originates from the core, it is essential that you build a strong foundation, starting from your midsection. And since, while at the pool or at the beach, all eyes will eventually focus on the waistline, it is even more important to sculpt a tight, lean stomach. See workouts below.
Before we get started, let me reiterate that the best abdominal exercise or the best ab workout in the world will not help reduce body fat from your stomach.
To truly see ripped abs (or a sexy slim waistline, ladies), you must have a lower body fat percentage, which you achieve through a caloric deficit. Performing even the best abdominal exercise actually does very little to burn calories.
How To Get Abs
In my personal training service, I have found that 15-20 minutes of ab/oblique exercise 2-3 times per week is sufficient to develop functional core strength while promoting a firm, toned appearance.
Spend the majority of your workout time building muscle through resistance training (muscle burns calories) and burning calories through cardio. That way, you will actually be able to see the results of your abdominal training. (Ripped abs, anyone?)
